What is my money invested in?
In return for your investment, you will receive a number of carbon credits that will be issued to you on an annual basis over a period of 25 years. An element of all investment received and profits made by Forestry For Life Limited will be utilised for acquiring land and funding our CSR projects.
How do I know that the carbon credits are genuine?
Once generated and validated, all carbon credits are logged and registered. Forestry For Life’s has a unique approach in that our carbon credits are produced to the CCBA, VCS & CFA standards.
How do I sell my carbon credits?
You can sell them either via the Forestry For Life brokerage, or via a third party broker.
What are the carbon markets?
The global carbon market consists of many different types of carbon credits and carbon markets, it is a rather in depth subject which is constantly changing. In brief, the type of credits we issue are registered on the Voluntary Market. This market was set up to include various projects, including forestry, which are not part of the Kyoto Protocol. We at Forestry For Life have specialist advisors that keep up-to-date with the latest carbon market movements and policies. Does this project exploit any local people or landowners?
Absolutely not. Forestry For Life work with the local communities, both in respect of our forestry projects and our CSR program, thereby working together towards improving living standards and employment opportunities.
What is my exit strategy?
If you choose to exit the investment there is no formal exit strategy in years 1-3 as it is in the fixed period.From year 4 onwards Forestry For Life will buy back the remaining credits for: 50% of the original purchase price in year 4, 75% of the original purchase price in year 5, 100% of the original purchase price in year 6 onwards.
What is the tax position on such an investment?
